Understanding Intelligence: Video of Interviews From Attendees of the 2022 ISIR Conference
Interesting video featuring Jonathan Anomaly, Helmuth Nyborg, Gregory Clark, Jordan Lasker, and others
The 22nd annual ISIR conference took place this summer in Vienna. ISIR stands for International Society for Intelligence Research. If you are also very interested in intelligence research like me, you may have heard of a bit of controversy surrounding the attendee list resulting in the disinvitation of intelligence researcher
. Agitating for disinvitations, firings, and cancellation generally is a terrible development in the culture of academia. The notion that these concerns are for reasons of rigor rather than ideology is rather silly.Regardless, I am glad that these sorts of conferences are still able to take place. My attention was brought to a video containing a short series of interviews with attendees of the ISIR in Vienna. Like the PGT-P video I shared recently, this video also has very little attention—only 146 views. It seemed worthwhile to share to my audience. The narration, camera and editing was done by Tarmo Pyysalo. Sound was by Erich Tomasso. The researchers included some familiar faces:
Helmuth Nyborg - Danish psychologist
- ) - PhD Student
Anna-Lena Schubert - Professor of Analysis and Modeling of Complex Data
Camille Williams - PhD Student
- ) - Professor, researcher in genetic enhancement
Tobias Wolfram - Behavioral geneticist
Paulina Plinke - First year psychology student
Andreas Demetriou - Developmental psychologist
Gregory Clark - Professor of Economics
